Here it is! Proton just confirmed that its highly anticipated B-segment SUV, the Proton X50, will be launched next week on 27 October. As per our previous report, it will be launched online through a live stream. It won’t be long now until we find out exactly how much the new model will cost.
Proton revealed the launch date of the X50 on its Facebook page in a video teaser showcasing the different aspects of the SUV. The virtual launch will be taking place on 27 October next week at exactly 10:50AM on the company’s Facebook page, just like how it was for the Proton Saga Anniversary Edition.
What makes the X50 particularly attractive is its feature set. Four different variants of the B-segment SUV are offered, with the range-topping Flagship model getting all the bells and whistles. These include a 1.5L turbocharged direct-injected three-cylinder engine with 177PS and 255Nm of torque, a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, and level 2 semi-autonomous driving.
We’ve put the X50 through its paces not too long ago, and we’re really impressed with what the new model offers. Even though its pricing has not been revealed yet, many are eager to get their hands on the X50. After all, in a span of only two weeks, 20,000 bookings were already placed for the SUV; that’s a very impressive figure.
To recap, the Proton X50 will be launched online next week on 27 October at 10:50AM. You can catch the live stream of the virtual launch on Proton’s Facebook page right here. In the meantime, check out our other coverage of the X50 – there’s a good chance it will cost below the RM90,000 price point too.
