Proton just confirmed that bookings for its highly anticipated B-segment SUV, the Proton X50, has went past the 20,000 mark. That’s right, in only two weeks, over 20,000 bookings were placed for the X50; that’s a very, very impressive figure.
“Proton would like to thank all its customers for the tremendous interest shown in the Proton X50. We are pushing to ensure fulfilment over the last three months of 2020, while continuing to emphasise product quality,” said the CEO of Proton Edar, Roslan Abdullah.
Besides that, Proton also shared its sales figure for the month of September 2020. The national carmaker managed to move 11,935 units in that month, which is Proton’s second highest monthly sales. Overall, the company already sold 73,607 models this year, placing it second in Malaysia’s automotive sales.
Three of Proton models also continue to lead their respective segments. These include the Proton X70 (2,849 units), Proton Persona (2606 units), and the Proton Exora (748 units). Proton added that the latter two are expected to end the year as cumulative sales leaders.
Evidently, many Malaysians are interested to get their hands on the Proton X50. Here’s hoping the national carmaker can really fulfill these orders in the last three months of 2020 to enjoy the 100% sales tax exemption.
