Asus just launched a slew of laptops in Malaysia. All of these are powered by the new AMD Ryzen 4000 processors, making them the first wave of laptops to be available in Malaysia with the highly anticipated chips. As many as four laptops are introduced here today: TUF Gaming A15 and A17, ROG Zephyrus G15, as well as the VivoBook S14.
Let’s start with the TUF Gaming A15, the most affordable gaming laptop of the bunch. The base model with a Ryzen 5 4600H processor and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 GPU retails at only RM3,499, and the price goes up to RM5,899 for the range-topping Ryzen 9 4900H model with an RTX 2060 GPU. Regardless of which model you get, all variants of the TUF Gaming A15 feature a 15.6-inch 1920 x 1080 IPS display with a fast 144Hz refresh rate. On top of that, the panel also supports adaptive sync, so you won’t have to deal with screen tearing on this gaming laptop. All configurations of the TUF Gaming A15 listed above are now available for purchase in Malaysia.
Next is the TUF Gaming A17, which is very similar to the A15, except for some of its hardware options and screen size. It sports a larger 17.3-inch 1080p IPS display with an equally fast 144Hz refresh rate, and the highest-end configuration comes with a Ryzen 9 4900H processor and GTX 1660 Ti GPU. Here are the two models available in Malaysia right now:
- Ryzen 7 4800H, GTX 1650 Ti, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD – RM4,299
- Ryzen 9 4900H, GTX 1660 Ti, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD – RM5,199
And then there’s the more premium ROG Zephyrus G15. Only one variant of the gaming laptop is offered here, which features a Ryzen 7 4800HS processor, a GTX 1660 Ti Max-Q GPU, a fast 15.6-inch 1080p IPS screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, 8GB of RAM, and a whopping 1TB SSD. The Zephyrus G15 is available right now in Malaysia for RM5,299, and if you’re wondering about the local availability of the ROG Zephyrus G14, this compact gaming laptop will reach our shores next month in June.
Last but certainly not least is the productivity-focused VivoBook S14. Two variants are offered locally, with just the choice of processor differentiating them. The Ryzen 5 4500U model costs RM2,899, while the Ryzen 7 4700U option goes for RM3,199. Both variants feature a 14-inch 1080p IPS panel, integrated Radeon Graphics, 8GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD storage.
As mentioned, all of the laptops announced by Asus today are now available for purchase in Malaysia. This is a pretty big launch, given that there are no other Ryzen 4000 laptops in our market right now. Regardless, stay tuned for our hands-on of the TUF Gaming A15!
