Proton X50 Sport Edition Unveiled – Sportier, 1,000 Limited Edition Model for RM98,300
January 17, 2025 Andrew Cheng

The Proton X50 Sport Edition is here, and it can be yours for RM98,300. Though the limited edition model – only 1,000 units are available – actually retails at RM105,300, Proton is throwing in a RM7,000 rebate for January 2025, further improving the value proposition of the popular B-segment SUV.

Based on the Premium variant of the B-segment SUV, the X50 Sport Edition – true to its name – comes with a number of unique, sporty design elements. These include blacked-out 18-inch alloy wheels, a bodykit, and of course, a Sport Edition emblem.

Beyond the aesthetic changes, other specifications of the X50 Sport Edition remain the same as the standard Premium model. That means it is still powered by a 1.5L port-injected turbo engine that outputs 150PS and 226Nm of torque, as well as a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. As it is based on the Premium trim of the X50, the Sport Edition does not come with the suite of ADAS features that are only found on the range-topping X50 Flagship.

“The Proton X50 Sport Edition is about offering more excitement for Proton customers by leveraging on the popularity of the Proton X50, a crowd favourite since its launch. With the SE, we want to amplify that spirit by delivering a version that offers a more dynamic and sportier image, that customers have been longing for,” said the Deputy CEO of Proton, Roslan Abdullah.

The Proton X50 Sport Edition is now available for booking in Malaysia. Priced at RM98,300, only 1,000 units of the limited edition model is offered, so you may want to place a booking sooner rather than later if you’re interested in the SUV.
