Proton has recorded higher sales figure for the month of October 2024. The national carmaker sold 12,799 units – domestic and export sales included – last month, which is a 13.6% improvement over its September 2024 sales. On top of that, three Proton models lead their respective segments too.
Naturally, the Proton X50 continues to dominate the B-segment SUV market. With over 2,122 units delivered in October 2024, the SUV is said to be leading the segment’s monthly and year-to-date (YTD) sales volume in Malaysia. To recap, 19,122 units of the X50 have been sold in 2024 so far.

Next, there’s the Proton S70 with 1,432 units sold last month, putting it at the top of the C-segment sedan market. Another segment leader is the Proton X90; over 245 units of the D-segment SUV were delivered to customers last month. Not surprisingly, the Proton Saga remains to be the national carmaker’s best-selling car in October 2024 with 6,112 units sold.
“The final quarter of 2024 will be a challenging time for automotive players. An influx of new brands and products together with the drive to meet sales targets and end the year strongly will see multiple offers for new car buyers,” said the CEO of Proton Edar, Roslan Abdullah.

“Heading into the new year, the company will build the foundation to become a major presence in the EV market. The Proton e.MAS 7 has already been previewed to thousands of potential buyers and will have its grand launch in December, with 36 dealers representing the brand. At the same time, work is continuing to offer more value to current Proton owners via OTA updates that improve the user experience in all our intelligent models,” he added.
