Right after the Apple Watch Series 10, the next batch of Apple products to be registered with SIRIM are the new AirPods 4 and USB-C AirPods Max. Chances are, the two products will be available for purchase in Malaysia at the same time as the Series 10 in the very near future.
As usual, we were going through SIRIM’s database when we came across several variants of the AirPods 4 and the AirPods Max. Both the standard AirPods 4 and the ANC version have been listed by SIRIM under Apple Malaysia between 27 September to 1 October, while the USB-C AirPods Max was registered on 30 September.
Compared to its predecessor, the AirPods 4 is quite a bit more affordable, starting from RM599 for the standard version. If you want the ANC model instead – a curious feature, given that the earbuds have an open-ear design – it will set you back RM829.
Aside from ANC, the AirPods 4 also promises improved audio quality thanks to an “entirely new acoustic architecture, low-distortion driver, and high dynamic range amplifier,” as Apple puts it. The wireless earbuds are powered by Apple’s H2 chip now too, which adds Voice Isolation for clearer call quality, as well as Siri Interactions where users can simply nod yes or shake their heads no to respond to Siri announcements.
And then there’s the updated AirPods Max. For the same RM3,499 asking price, the wireless headset now comes in a slew of new colours, including midnight, starlight, blue, orange, and purple. On top of that, the Lightning port has finally been swapped out for the more universal USB-C connection.
To recap, the Apple AirPods 4 and AirPods Max retail from RM599 and RM3,499 respectively in Malaysia. As both products have been registered with SIRIM already, we expect them to be available for purchase on our shores very, very soon, much like the Apple Watch Series 10.
