Apple Watch Series 10 Available in Malaysia Soon
September 30, 2024 Andrew Cheng

The Apple Watch Series 10 receives some of the most notable upgrades the smartwatch lineup has seen in recent times, and it seems like we don’t have to wait much longer to get our hands on the wearable. We have good reasons to believe that the Series 10 will go on sale in Malaysia very, very soon.

In our routine search through SIRIM’s database, we came across an Apple Watch with the model number A2999 registered under Apple Malaysia just today on 30 September. This particular model is actually the 46mm version of the Series 10, and we reckon the smaller 42mm model will also be registered with the certification body very soon.

Previously starting at RM1,899 for the 41mm version, the Apple Watch Series 10 retails from only RM1,799 for the (now upsized) 42mm base variant; that is a RM100 price drop for a brand new model of the smartwatch. As for the larger 46mm Series 10, it starts at RM1,949 versus the 45mm Series 9’s RM2,049 starting price. If you want the brand new titanium Series 10 with a sapphire crystal display, well, that will set you back a cool RM3,299 or RM3,549 for the 42mm and 46mm models respectively.

Measuring 9.7mm thin, the Apple Watch Series 10 is said to be almost 10% thinner than Series 9; the new titanium option is also about 20% lighter. Oh, the wide-angle OLED display is larger and brighter now too, allowing the smartwatch to show an extra line of text onscreen. Powering the Series 10, on the other hand, is a new S10 chip with a four-core neural engine.

Other features of the Series 10 include a polished aluminium finish, a metal back, the ability to detect sleep apnea, and a new charging coil design to enable faster charging. According to Apple, 30 minutes of charging is enough to juice up the battery to 80%.

To recap, the Apple Watch Series 10 starts at RM1,799 in Malaysia. Given that the 46mm model has been registered with SIRIM already, it’s not far-fetched to assume that the smartwatch will be available locally very soon.
