Samsung Galaxy S24 FE – More Affordable Galaxy S24+ From RM3,299
September 26, 2024 Andrew Cheng

It’s that time of year for a new (affordable) FE device from Samsung. Compared to last year’s Galaxy S23 FE, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE features a bigger display now, along will all the Galaxy AI smarts that are offered on the main Galaxy S24 lineup.

Two variants of the Galaxy S24 FE are offered in Malaysia. The base 256GB model goes for RM3,299, while the 512GB variant is priced at RM3,899. It’s worth noting that both variants feature 8GB RAM for our market, and four colours are available: Mint, Blue, Grey, and Graphite.

Looking at the hardware of the Galaxy S24 FE, it’s really a more affordable version of the Galaxy S24+, which starts at RM4,899. After all, the S24 FE features a similarly sized 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, though it’s not quite as sharp with a Full HD+ resolution and 60/120Hz adaptive refresh rate.

Curiously, the Galaxy S24 FE is also powered by a Samsung chip; more specifically, the Exynos 2400e. Compared to the standard Exynos 2400 of the Galaxy S24+, we were told this “e” version features slightly lower clock speeds. With that in mind, it will be interesting to see the performance difference between the two chips.

Other specifications of the Galaxy S24 FE include a triple camera system (50MP wide + 12MP ultra-wide + 8MP telephoto), a 10MP selfie camera, a 4,700mAh battery, IP68 water and dust resistance, as well as the slew of Galaxy AI features. Oh, the S24 FE also gets seven years of software and security updates.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is now available for pre-order in Malaysia until 3 October. To recap, the base 256GB model is priced at RM3,299, while the 512GB configuration goes for RM3,899. To sweeten the deal, users can get up to RM900 off on the S24 FE with several rebates offered by the Korean company, including signing up to be an “#AITroop” to get a RM300 discount voucher. Stay tuned for our hands-on of Samsung’s latest FE device!
