Spy Shot: Proton S50’s Infinite Weave & Interior Detailed Ahead of November 2023 Launch
October 9, 2023 Andrew Cheng

The Proton S50 has been spotted in Malaysia yet again! The upcoming sedan was seen refuelling at a Shell station, and we got a closer look at its interior and Infinite Weave grille, which looks to be taking inspiration from the X90’s diamond-shaped studs.

These stills of the S50 were taken from a video posted by Facebook user Syahid Ayatullah Bin Ramli and shared to the Paultan.org Automotive/Car Discussion Group. Looking at the footage, the sedan looks to feature a black interior with a floating-style infotainment screen. Not surprisingly, the interior design looks similar to that of its donor model, the Geely Emgrand.

Based on previous rumours, four different variants of the S50 will supposedly be offered. All of them are said to be powered by the familiar 1.5L TGDi engine that outputs 177PS and 255Nm of torque, which is the same mill found under the hood of the X50 and X70. It is rumoured be sporting a large 12.3-inch full LCD meter as well.

But until confirmed by Proton itself, take these leaked details of the Proton S50 with a grain of salt, though the unavailability of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is confirmed already. We should learn more about the sedan as we approach closer to the (likely) launch of S50 in November 2023 next month.
