Proton is celebrating the second anniversary of its hugely successful SUV, the Proton X50. Since its launch on 27 October 2020, the national carmaker revealed that it has sold over 62,139 units of the B-segment model – that’s an impressive feat.

The high sales number of the X50 really comes as no surprise, given the value proposition of the SUV. After all, the X50 consistently topped Proton’s monthly sales reports, outselling many of the national carmaker’s other models bar the Proton Saga.

Looking back, 28,774 units of the X50 were delivered to customers last year, making it the best-selling SUV in 2021. Compared to the current figure provided by Proton – minus a couple of months’ worth of sales in 2020 – the X50 looks to achieve its best annual sales performance yet.
