More than half a month after the tax holiday ended on 30 June, Proton finally revealed the new prices of the Proton X50 with SST included. With the reintroduction of SST, the B-segment SUV sees a price hike of up to RM6,500.
Of course, that price difference is for the range-topping Flagship model of the X50, which is now priced at RM109,800. The Premium trim, on the other hand, sees a RM5,600 price increase, bringing the total to RM98,800. This is followed by the Executive and Standard variants, which are up by RM5,000 and RM4,600 respectively.
|Proton X50||Current Price (with SST)||Price (without SST)||Price difference|
|1.5 TGDi Flagship||RM109,800||RM103,300||+RM6,500|
Now, if you placed a booking for the X50 by 30 June last month, the new prices you see above will not affect your order. Of course, this is assuming your car is registered by 31 March 2023 next year as announced by the Malaysian government. If you fulfill these criteria, you can still enjoy the tax-free prices.
Do note that these new prices of the Proton X50 with SST included briefly appeared on the product page of the SUV; the pricing details have been taken down since, curiously enough. Rest assured, we’ll update this article if there are any changes worth noting.
