As promised, Asus is launching its “complete lineup” of AMD Ryzen 4000 laptops in Malaysia next week. More specifically, it’s happening on 12 May, and a number of laptops will be introduced for the local market on that day, including the Asus TUF Gaming A15, A17, as well as the ROG Zephyrus G15.
Unfortunately, one highly anticipated gaming laptop from the Taiwanese company won’t be making an appearance at the launch: the compact Asus ROG Zephyrus G14. We’ve spoken to Asus Malaysia on this, and we were told that the G14 will only be available here at a later date. Rest assured, it is coming to Malaysia.

Aside from these gaming laptops, it’s likely Asus will also update some of its VivoBook machines with Ryzen 4000 processors; the itinerary of the launch mentioned the VivoBook series. It remains to be seen exactly which laptop in the lineup will be updated with AMD’s new chips, but it’s rumoured that at least the VivoBook 14 will be refreshed with the 15W, power-efficient Ryzen 5 4500U and Ryzen 7 4700U processors.
Coming back to the gaming laptops that will be launched on 12 May, we’ve got confirmation on the exact model of the TUF Gaming A15 that will be available in Malaysia. So far, only the Ryzen 7 4800H option is confirmed for our market. It’s not known yet exactly when (or if) the Ryzen 5 4600H variant will be sold here.
Anyway, the Ryzen 7 4800H processor of the TUF Gaming A15 will be paired with an Nvidia RTX 2060 GPU for the Malaysian market, so you will get very respectable gaming performance out of this gaming laptop. We reckon Asus will also bring in other GPU options here, including the GTX 1660 Ti for more affordable models.
To further improve the gaming experience, the TUF Gaming A15 comes with a 15.6-inch 1080p IPS screen with a fast 144Hz refresh rate as well. Thanks to this high refresh rate, you will get better motion clarity in fast-paced games. This is especially important in competitive titles like Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends.
Other specifications of the TUF Gaming A15 for our market include 16GB of DDR4 3200MHz RAM, a 48WHr battery, a whopping 1TB of fast PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD storage, and a two-year global warranty coverage; the first year is covered under the company’s Perfect Warranty program.
The Asus TUF Gaming A15 and a number of other Ryzen 4000 laptops will be landing in Malaysia on 12 May. Stay tuned to Nextrift on that day for our coverage of the launch.
