TCL is set to launch two new smartphones under the TCL 40 NXTPAPER series in Malaysia next month. As their names suggest, the TCL 40 NXTPAPER 5G and 4G feature an anti-glare display with a “paper-like” matte texture.
Curiously, of the two phones, the 4G version of the TCL 40 NXTPAPER has a higher-end set of hardware. These include a 6.78-inch 1080p display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a Mediatek Helio G88 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM, 256GB of expandable storage, a triple camera system (50MP main + 5MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro), a 32MP selfie camera, and a 5,010mAh battery with 33W fast charging.
As for the 5G variant of the TCL 40 NXTPAPER, it features a 6.6-inch 720p display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a Mediatek Dimensity 6020 chipset, a triple camera system (50MP main + 2MP depth + 2MP macro), an 8MP selfie camera, 6GB of RAM, 256GB of expandable storage, as well as a 5,000mAh battery with 15W charging.
The TCL 40 NXTPAPER series will be coming to Malaysia sometime next month in October 2023. We’ll find out then the asking price and exact availability of the two phones on our shores.
