Proton X50 Soft Launch Supposedly Happening This Month

Ever since Proton officially teased the Proton X50 in its Merdeka Day video, we’re getting more and more information on the national carmaker’s upcoming B-segment SUV. Not only do we have a good indication of the X50’s price, we now have a possible launch window for the SUV.

This latest news comes from Funtasticko. Citing a source familiar with the matter, the site wrote that a soft launch for the Proton X50 will be happening as early as this month. More specifically, sometime in the middle of the month. On top of that, the soft launch is said to take place in Proton’s Tanjung Malim plant as well, which is where the X50 is set to be manufactured.

Besides that, Funtasticko’s source further elaborated that Proton will also be launching special edition versions of four different models: the X70, Persona, Iriz, and even the Exora. Just like the Proton Saga Anniversary Edition, all of them will supposedly sport a similar black paint job with yellow (or gold) accents.

Evidently, Proton is keeping itself busy with these models, especially so for the X50. After all, the B-segment SUV has been in development for quite some time now, and it may be ready to hit the road very, very soon. If the soft launch does take place this month as Funtasticko’s source claims, AmInvest’s October timeline for the X50’s arrival is very likely to happen.

Regardless, we’ll just have to wait until the middle of the month to learn more about the Proton X50. No official pricing has been revealed yet, but we’re confident the B-segment SUV will be priced below the RM90,000 price point.
