After much hype and buzz, the Nothing Phone 1 is finally unveiled, and it’s just as the leaks have indicated. There’s the transparent, see-through back design, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ chipset, and a unique LED notification system. There is one surprise though: it’s confirmed for the Malaysian market.
On Nothing Phone 1’s pre-order page for Malaysia, three variants of the phone are listed, though the 8GB + 128GB configuration does not have any pricing. Instead, the 8GB + 256GB model is the most affordable model with a RM2,399 price tag. If you need more RAM, there’s the 12GB + 256GB variant for RM2,699.

For that kind of money, the Nothing Phone 1 features the aforementioned Snapdragon 778G+ chipset with 5G connectivity, which should be more than capable to provide a fast, zippy user experience. This is complemented by the phone’s equally speedy 6.55-inch 1080p OLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
Other specifications of the Nothing Phone 1 include a dual camera system (50MP primary + 50MP ultra-wide angle), a 16MP selfie camera, an IP53 rating, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and a reasonably big 4,500mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.

No word yet on exactly when the Nothing Phone 1 will be available for pre-order in Malaysia. But given that the pre-order page is up, we reckon it’s only a matter of time before the Phone 1 can be purchased on our shores. What do you think of its RM2,399 starting price?
