Genshin Impact Yelan & Xiao Banners Dropping 31 May With Yanfei, Noelle, Barbara

Yelan’s and Xiao’s (who is returning for a third time) banners have been revealed for Genshin Impact. Set to arrive this coming Tuesday on 31 May, the event wish for these two 5-star characters will be accompanied by Yanfei, Noelle, and Barbara.

In line with previous Genshin Impact double banners, Yelan and Xiao both share the same roster of 4-star characters despite the fact that they’re featured in separate event wishes. Of course, pity is also shared between the two banners, and the wish guarantee count will carry over to future character banners too.

Similar to Genshin Impact’s previous character event wishes, the “drop rate” of Yelan, Xiao, Yanfei, Noelle, and Barbara will be increased. In the case of Yelan and Xiao, the first 5-star character you get will have a 50% chance to be either of them, depending on which banner you’re wishing. If you got a different character, the next 5-star character you roll is guaranteed to be them.

Since Genshin Impact’s pity system for character banners ensures that you will get at least one 5-star character every 90 wishes, you will have to do 180 rolls for a guaranteed Yelan or Xiao. The same rule applies to 4-star characters (guaranteed every 10-roll instead), but given that there are three of them featured in the banner, it’s a little bit more random.

Basically, when you’re guaranteed a 4-star character from the banner, you will get either Yanfei, Noelle, or Barbara. If you’re aiming to get either one of these three characters, you will likely have to roll a good number of times, depending on your luck.

Yelan’s “Discerner of Enigmas” and Xiao’s “Invitation to Mundane Life” event wishes will be available in Genshin Impact on 31 May 2022, right after the Version 2.7 update goes live. Their banners will be offered until 21 June; Arataki Itto’s rerun banner – which will be joined by Kuki Shinobu – will follow suit then.
