Now this is a surprise: Mihoyo announced the second phase event wishes in Genshin Impact 2.4 much earlier than usual. This second phase will feature Ganyu and Zhongli, and they will be available on 25 January alongside Yanfei, Beidou, and Xingqiu.
In line with previous Genshin Impact double banners, Ganyu and Zhongli both share the same roster of 4-star characters despite the fact that they’re featured in separate event wishes. Of course, pity is also shared between the two banners, and the wish guarantee count will carry over to future character banners too.
Just like Genshin Impact’s previous character event wishes, the “drop rate” of Ganyu, Zhongli, Yanfei, Beidou, and Xingqiu will be increased. In the case of Ganyu and Zhongli, the first 5-star character you get will have a 50% chance to be either of them, depending on which banner you’re wishing. If you got a different character, the next 5-star character you roll is guaranteed to be them.
Since Genshin Impact’s pity system for character banners ensures that you will get at least one 5-star character every 90 wishes, you will have to do 180 rolls for a guaranteed Ganyu or Zhongli. The same rule applies to 4-star characters (guaranteed every 10-roll instead), but given that there are three of them featured in the banner, it’s a little bit more random.
Basically, when you’re guaranteed a 4-star character from the banner, you will get either Yanfei, Beidou, or Xingqiu. If you’re aiming to get either one of these three characters, you will likely have to roll a good number of times, depending on your luck.
Ganyu’s “Adrift in the Harbor” and Zhongli’s “Gentry of Hermitage” event wishes will be available in Genshin Impact on 25 January 2022, right after Shenhe’s and Xiao’s banners. The former’s banners will be available until 15 February.
