Mihoyo just revealed quite a number of details for Genshin Impact‘s upcoming Version 1.2 update. Most of them are quality-of-life improvements, but one of the new changes is quite interesting: ascending characters will now reward free wishes.
That’s right, once Version 1.2 of Genshin Impact is live, ascending characters will reward players with Acquaint Fates, which can be used for the standard banner. One Fate will be given each time a character is ascended at level 20, 50, and 70; that’s a total of three free wishes for every character. Pretty good, isn’t it?
What about characters that players have already ascended prior to Version 1.2? Don’t worry: you can still claim your Acquaint Fates for these characters from the Ascension Materials Preview page. Of course, you will only be able to do so once Version 1.2 rolls out.
Other new features that will be added to Genshin Impact in Version 1.2 include a chat function, trackable map pins for easier navigation, the option to repeat Domains (so you don’t have to leave and enter the same Domain again), as well as autoplay dialogues. Loots from Domains and Ley Line Outcrops will also be automatically added to your inventory in the next update.
No word yet on exactly when Version 1.2 of Genshin Impact will go live, though we expect it to happen sometime this month. There’s a chance it will be rolled out not long after the current Zhongli banner (Gentry of Hermitage) ends on 22 December.
