Yesterday, we spotted the Apple Watch Ultra, Series 8, and SE in SIRIM’s database. This time around, we got yet Another Apple product: the 2nd generation AirPods Pro has just been registered with SIRIM, so there’s a good chance the wireless earbuds will be sold here very soon.
There are actually three different model numbers for the new AirPods Pro in SIRIM’s database. The charging case itself carries the model number A2700, while the left and right buds of the AirPods Pro are labelled A2699 and A2698 respectively, as shown in the SIRIM certifications below.
Compared to its predecessor, the 2nd gen AirPods Pro comes with a slew of improvements. For one, it’s said to have better active noise cancellation with “up to double the noise-cancelling power” of the original AirPods Pro, thanks to the new H2 chip.
Battery life of the new AirPods Pro has also been improved by 1.5 hours for a total of up to six hours of use with ANC activated. With the charging case, users can get up to 30 hours of total listening time. Aside from that, the wireless earbuds finally add volume and media controls to the stem.
The 2nd generation AirPods Pro is priced at RM1,099 for the Malaysian market, though there’s no word yet on exactly when it will be available for purchase on our shores. But now that it has been registered with SIRIM already, we reckon the new AirPods Pro will be sold here very soon.
