Following up on its recent hardware refreshes, Apple has officially announced the new 24-inch iMac powered by the M6 chip, bringing performance bumps, faster storage, and advanced AI capabilities to its all-in-one desktop lineup.

The new M6 silicon brings up to a 12-core CPU and a 12-core GPU featuring Neural Accelerators in each core. Combined with a Dual 16-core Neural Engine and higher memory bandwidth up to 170GB/s, the new iMac promises up to 5 times faster AI performance compared to the M4 generation, while offering up to 18 times faster performance for users upgrading from older Intel-based models.

The all-in-one maintains its signature form factor, built around a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display with 500 nits of brightness and P3 wide color. Audio and video are driven by a 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View support, paired with a force-cancelling six-speaker sound system featuring Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos support.

Connectivity sees a welcome upgrade with the addition of Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, alongside available 2.5Gb Ethernet and up to 2x faster SSD read and write speeds. Depending on the configuration, it includes up to four Thunderbolt 4 ports with support for up to two external 6K displays.

The new iMac comes in seven colors: blue, green, pink, yellow, purple, orange, and silver, and comes bundled with color-matched accessories, including a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID.

The iMac with M6 starts at RM6,499 (or RM6,299 with education savings) for the 10-core CPU/GPU model, while the higher-end 12-core variant starts at RM7,499 (or RM7,099 with education pricing). Pre-orders open on 29 October, with official on-shelf availability beginning Friday, 6 November.
