Following up on yesterday’s new iPad Mini announcement, Apple has officially refreshed its professional notebook lineup with the new 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the M6 chip.
The new M6 silicon is a 12-core CPU and a 12-core GPU equipped with Neural Accelerators in every core. Combined with a Dual 16-core Neural Engine, the new MacBook Pro delivers up to 25 percent faster AI workloads and up to 30 percent faster graphics compared to the previous M5 generation. For users upgrading from older M1 machines, Apple promises up to 11 times faster graphics and up to 13 times faster AI performance.
The device maintains its signature look, featuring a Liquid Retina XDR display capable of up to 1,600 nits of peak HDR brightness, with an optional nano-texture glass finish to minimize glare in bright environments. Audio and visuals are handled by a six-speaker sound system, a studio-quality three-mic array, and an upgraded 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View support.

Connectivity gets an overhaul with the inclusion of Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, alongside a selection of ports including HDMI, MagSafe 3, an SDXC card slot, a headphone jack, and three Thunderbolt 4 ports. Despite its upgraded performance, Apple claims the efficiency improvements allow the laptop to achieve up to 24 hours of battery life on a single charge.
Running on macOS 27, the new machine brings refined UI elements, faster AirDrop transfers, and a revamped search engine powering Spotlight, Photos, and Mail.
The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 is available in space black and silver finishes, starting at RM8,299 for regular buyers and RM7,899 with education pricing. Pre-orders open on 29 October, with official on-shelf availability beginning Friday, 6 November.
