Well, the 2025 Proton Saga MC3 facelift has been spotted in Malaysia yet again. This time around, it’s a much clearer look at the upcoming A-segment sedan, and the test mule seems to be sporting a new grille, provisional headlights, and get this: an ADAS camera mounted to the windscreen.
The Saga MC3 test unit seen here is shared by one Johnny Tan in a Proton Saga Facebook group. While the silhouette of the sedan looks very close to the current Saga (including the alloy wheels), the ADAS camera would be a significant update to the budget-friendly A-segment sedan if it makes it to the final production model.

Previous rumours have pointed to a facelifted Saga towards the end of 2025. At the time, it is believed that the sedan will be offered with an EV and petrol powertrain. It was also said that the upcoming Saga facelift is one of the models that are being developed at Proton’s R&D centre in Hangzhou Bay, China, and the facelift model is supposedly based on an upgraded version of the existing platform (believed to be dubbed AMA).
If that is indeed the case, it’s quite curious, given that the current platform of the Saga – which dates back to the 2008 Saga BLM – was not developed with an EV powertrain in mind. Nonetheless, perhaps Proton have some big upgrades planned for the ageing platform.
Aside from that, the upcoming Saga facelift is rumoured to be available in both sedan and hatchback forms too, though the latter will supposedly only be offered a year after the sedan model’s debut. The exterior and interior of the car are said to be completely revamped too, and naturally, the new Saga will incorporate Proton’s current design language as well, including the Infinite Weave and Ethereal Bow design motifs.

Of course, given that these details on the Proton Saga MC3 facelift did not come from the national carmaker itself, there’s always a chance they are inaccurate. Seeing how the updated A-segment sedan has been spotted on local roads already, Proton looks to be on track for the end-2025 release of the 2025 Saga.
