Three months after the 2025 Proton X70 gets support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto is finally available on the C-segment SUV now. It certainly took a while for the two features to be offered on the SUV since its launch in August 2024, but hey, at least the software support is finally here.
It’s a fairly straightforward process to update the X70’s infotainment system to gain access to Android Auto. All you need to do is check for the latest update, download said update, and install it. Do note that the engine has to be running throughout the download and installation process.
Once you’ve done that, you just need to pair an Android device to the infotainment system either with a wire or Bluetooth connection to enable Android Auto. Yes, the new X70 supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, so you don’t have to fumble with any wires every time you get into the SUV.
It’s worth noting that the Proton X70 is currently the only Proton model that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Sometime in the future, the new Proton e.MAS 7 will support the two features too, though no timeline has been shared by the national carmaker.
