Honor just revealed the Malaysian launch date of its latest flagship smartphone, the Honor Magic 7 Pro. Set to arrive here on 9 January 2025 next month, one of the key highlights of the phone is the chipset under the hood, which is none other than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Aside from that, the Magic 7 Pro is also touted as the first smartphone in the world to feature on-device AI for deepfake detection. It’s said to be able to detect deepfakes within three seconds of a video call, which could prove to be useful for folks who are wary of scams.

While the Magic 7 Pro was launched in China a couple of months ago with its full list of specifications, we can’t reveal the local specs of the phone just yet. Nonetheless, one of the sample units were placed in an aquarium, confirming that the Malaysian unit of the phone sports the same IP68/IP69 rating as the China market.
To recap, the Honor Magic 7 Pro will be launched in Malaysia next month on 9 January 2025; we’ll find out then just how much the Snapdragon 8 Elite phone will be priced on our shores. For the sake of comparison, the Magic 6 Pro retailed at RM4,499 at launch, so there’s a good chance the Magic 7 Pro will be priced in the same region.
