Proton Launches Prepaid Service Package for Proton Saga, 2025 Proton X70, Proton X90
December 12, 2024 Andrew Cheng

Proton just announced a new prepaid service package for three of its models: the Proton Saga, 2025 Proton X70, as well as the Proton X90. Dubbed ProCare Smart Plan (PSP), the service package offers customers savings of up to RM670.

The PSP is offered in either a three-year or five-year package, and it’s meant to “cap the running costs for vehicle ownership,” as Proton puts it. Compared to normal service packages, the national carmaker says that PSP offers savings of up to 15%, effectively reducing maintenance costs.

If the vehicle is sold while the PSP is in effect, the new owner can still enjoy the benefits of the service package – provided it’s still within the validity period.

What about current owners of the Saga, 2025 X70, and X90? Well, they can still purchase a similar prepaid service package, but it will be capped at two-year intervals with savings of up to RM350. Instalment payment plan is also available through Direct Lending, which is said to be a shariah-compliant digital lending platform with a monthly repayment period of up to 12 months. If you’ve got an Affin Avance Proton credit card, you can opt for up to 24 months Fixed Payment Plan instead.

“Proton remains focused on making improvements to the product and services offering to our customers and the ProCare Smart Plan is the latest example of these efforts, combining industry leading levels of after sales service at Proton outlets with peace of mind for the customer, knowing that scheduled maintenance costs for their vehicles are capped for the next three or five years,” said the Vice President of Sales and After Sales at Proton Edar, Edmund Lim.

“This not only assists in better budget management but also helps to increase the retained value of the vehicle,” he added.

As mentioned, only the Proton Saga, 2025 Proton X70, and Proton X90 can opt for the PSP package right now. However, Proton mentioned that there are plans to eventually roll out the prepaid service package to all Proton models in the near future.
