After appearing in SIRIM’s database, the new M4 MacBook Pro and iMac are now officially available in Malaysia. However, even though both of them can be purchased on Apple’s official website now, deliveries will only start next week on 4 December.
To recap, the M4 MacBook Pro starts at RM6,999 and RM10,999 in Malaysia for the 14-inch and 16-inch models respectively. Thanks to the new M4 chip, overall performance and battery life of the MacBook Pro have increased too. Apple says the new laptop now offers up to 24 hours of use on a single charge, an increase from the already very long 22-hour battery life of the M3 model.
Besides that, there’s also the new nano-texture display option to minimise glare and reflections. Unlike how it is on the iMac, where the option is not offered on the base model, the nano-texture option can be configured on all variants of the M4 MacBook Pro for RM640. Oh, there’s also a new 12MP Centre Stage camera for improved video quality.
As for the M4 iMac, the most notable upgrade to the all-in-one desktop is the M4 chip along with a lower RM5,799 starting price in Malaysia. The base model features an M4 chip with 8-core CPU and GPU, 16GB unified memory, and 256GB of storage. A tier up is the RM6,699 configuration that sports the same memory and storage capacities, but it has a faster M4 chip with 10-core CPU and GPU, a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID, and support for gigabit ethernet.
The M4 MacBook Pro and iMac can now be purchased in Malaysia through Apple’s official website with deliveries starting 4 December. Store pickup at Apple The Exchange TRX is not offered just yet, but we reckon it will be available sometime next week.
