The much-awaited Apple Intelligence is now available on selected iPhone, iPad, and Mac that have been updated to iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 respectively. However, only the first set of AI-powered features are launched today, with “many more rolling out in the coming months,” as Apple puts it.
So what parts of Apple Intelligence are available now? Well, a good number of them, actually. Siri, for one, is now more capable and natural with a revamped design, featuring a sleek, glowing light that wraps around the edge of the screen when it’s activated. Users also have the freedom to either text or talk to Siri now, so you don’t have to rely exclusively on voice commands anymore.

Aside from that, the Photos app has been improved too. The natural language search lets users search for anything by just describing what they’re looking for – both images and videos can be searched this way – and the new Clean Up tool can also remove subjects in a photo. We’ll be trying out this particular feature in a follow-up article very soon.
Do note that only selected devices support Apple Intelligence. For iPhone, only the iPhone 15 Pro devices and the iPhone 16 series support the feature. As for the iPad, you need the A17 Pro or M1 and later chips, while Mac with M1 and later chips can make use of Apple Intelligence.
