Huawei’s latest tablet was also launched alongside the Watch GT 5 series, and the Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 has one particular feature that sets it apart from the competition: batik drawing tools. On top of that, it also features a bright and vibrant tandem OLED display with the PaperMatte treatment to reduce glare.
For the Malaysian market, the MatePad Pro 12.2 is priced at RM4,599. For that kind of money, it comes with 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage. As for colour option, it’s offered in the sole Premium Gold model on our shores, which has a rather unique-looking “golden silk” texture.
One of the most unique features of the MatePad Pro 12.2 is the aforementioned batik drawing tools offered in the Huawei GoPaint app. It’s actually developed in collaboration with Akademi Seni Budaya Dan Warisan Kebangsaan (ASWARA), and it allows users to try out traditional Malaysian batik art in a digital format.
Other specifications of the MatePad Pro 12.2 include a 12.2-inch 2800 x 1840 tandem OLED PaperMatte display with 144Hz refresh rate, a dual camera system (13MP wide + 8MP ultra-wide), a 16MP selfie camera, and two 5,050mAh batteries for a combined capacity of 10,100mAh with support for 100W charging. While the chipset powering the tablet was not detailed by Huawei, it’s reportedly a Kirin 9000S chip built on a 7nm process.
