Aside from its range of AMD Strix Point laptops, MSI also showed off the refreshed MSI Sword 16 HX to members of the media today. Now powered by Intel’s 14th generation chips, the gaming laptop is offered in several configurations starting at RM4,699.
Hardware wise, the RM4,699 base model of the Sword 16 HX features an Intel Core i5-14450HX processor paired with 16GB DDR5 RAM, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 GPU, a 16-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS display with 144Hz refresh rate, and a 512GB NVMe PCIe Gen4x4 SSD.
If you want more processing power, there’s the RM5,399 model that swaps out the CPU for a faster Core i7-14650HX chip and sharper 16-inch 2560 x 1600 IPS panel with higher 240Hz refresh rate.
Another tier up is the RM5,899 variant of the Sword 16 HX; it has similar hardware as the previous model, but with a more powerful RTX 4060 GPU. Last but not least is the range-topping RM7,199 configuration that upgrades the processor and GPU to a Core 19-14900HX and RTX 4070 respectively.
The MSI Sword 16 HX is now available for purchase in Malaysia from RM4,699. Do note that the Core i5 + RTX 4050 base model is discounted right now on MSI Malaysia’s official store by RM300, lowering the starting price of the gaming laptop to RM4,399.
