Initially launched in China back in July last month, it looks like the Honor Magic V3 is set to be available in Malaysia very soon. Measuring only 9.2mm thin when it is folded, the foldable phone gets even thinner (4.35mm) when it’s opened up. Beyond that, it is also a flagship device through and through.
The Magic V3 was actually registered with SIRIM last week on 29 July under Honor Malaysia with the model number FCP-N49. When a device appeared in SIRIM’s database, it’s a good indication that said product will be sold in Malaysia not long after. It’s worth noting that Honor Malaysia has also opened registrations for a beta experience programme of sorts for the Magic V3.
Anyway, beyond its thin profile, the Magic V3 is also quite lightweight. Tipping the scales at 226g, the foldable phone is even lighter than some traditional bar phones. It’s worth noting that the device comes with an IPX8 rating now, an improvement over its predecessor which had no IP rating.
Other specifications of the Magic V3 include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a 7.92-inch 2344 x 2156 OLED inner display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a 6.43-inch 2376 x 1060 OLED cover screen (also 120Hz adaptive refresh rate), a triple camera system (50MP primary + 40MP ultra-wide + 50MP periscope telephoto), 20MP selfie cameras for the inner and outer displays, as well as a 5,150mAh battery with 66W charging.
At the moment, it remains to be seen exactly when the Honor Magic V3 will be available in Malaysia, though it should be launched here in due time. In China, the foldable phone retails from 8,999 Chinese yuan (about RM5,580) for the base 12GB + 256GB model. The prices go up to 9,999 yuan (approximately RM6,200) and 10,999 yuan (around RM6,820) for the 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB configurations respectively.
