Honor got a new foldable smartphone, and it is thinner than ever. The Honor Magic V3 measures merely 9.2mm thin when it is folded, and when it’s opened up, it gets even thinner at 4.35mm. Beyond that, it is also a flagship device through and through.
Not only is the Magic V3 a very thin foldable smartphone, it also weighs only 226g, making it lighter than some traditional bar phones. It’s worth noting that the phone comes with an IPX8 rating now, an improvement over its predecessor which had no IP rating.
Other specifications of the Magic V3 include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, a 7.92-inch 2344 x 2156 OLED inner display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a 6.43-inch 2376 x 1060 OLED cover screen (also 120Hz adaptive refresh rate), a triple camera system (50MP primary + 40MP ultra-wide + 50MP periscope telephoto), 20MP selfie cameras for the inner and outer displays, as well as a 5,150mAh battery with 66W charging.
At the moment, the Honor Magic V3 is only available in China from 8,999 Chinese yuan (about RM5,795) for the base 12GB + 256GB model. The prices go up to 9,999 yuan (approximately RM6,440) and 10,999 yuan (around RM7,080) for the 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB configurations respectively.
It remains to be seen if the Magic V3 will be sold outside of its home market, but given Honor’s prominent presence in the Malaysian market, we reckon it will be sold here in due time.
