Proton e.MAS7 Unveiling 2 August – Rebadged Geely Galaxy E5 Confirmed?
July 31, 2024 Andrew Cheng

Just as promised, Proton is sharing more details on the first Proton e.MAS model, which we reckon will be called the e.MAS7. As per the national carmaker’s posts on its social media pages, the company is set to unveil the e.MAS7 electric SUV on 2 August this Friday.

The teaser posted by Proton also shows a silhouette of the upcoming e.MAS model, and it looks strikingly similar to the Geely Galaxy E5; just look at the outline of the window line. This seemingly confirms the various leaks and rumours that suggest the e.MAS7 will be based on Geely’s electric SUV.

If that is the case, expect the e.MAS7 to feature similar specifications as the Galaxy E5. It should come with a single electric motor at the front that produces 218PS and 320Nm of torque, along with two battery options (49.52kWh or 60.22kWh) with CLTC ranges of up to 440km and 530km respectively.

Given that the Proton e.MAS7 is only expected to make its debut sometime in December 2024, we reckon Proton won’t be revealing too much details on the upcoming electric SUV this Friday (2 August). Nonetheless, we will keep a close eye on Proton’s very first EV model.
