3 Proton e.MAS EV Models Teased Ahead of December Debut – SUV, Sedan, Hatchback
July 24, 2024 Andrew Cheng

Now this is quite a surprise: Proton is teasing not one, not two, but three new models under its EV sub-brand, Proton e.MAS. Looking at the silhouettes of the three respective cars, they seem to be a sedan, an SUV, and a hatchback.

Based on current rumours and leaks, it’s believed that the first e.MAS model that is set to be introduced in December 2024 will be an SUV; we reckon it will be called the Proton e.MAS7. But the teaser below is the first time we get official confirmation from the national carmaker on the existence of two other EV models under the e.MAS branding, which is…well, quite the revelation.

While there’s a chance the silhouette of the three e.MAS models are just placeholders, we can’t help but to take a guess at what they could be. The SUV is almost certainly the e.MAS7 based on the Geely Galaxy E5, while the sedan looks strikingly similar to the Proton S70. As for the hatchback, the proportions are somewhat like that of Geely’s Geome Xingyuan.

Of course, these are just educated guesses on our part, though we’re quite confident when it comes to the SUV being based on Geely’s Galaxy E5 and sold as the Proton e.MAS7 in Malaysia. Proton should be revealing more details on these three electric models in the near future, so rest assured, we will keep a very close eye on the EV sub-brand.
