Proton e.MAS7 CKD Assembly in Malaysia Reportedly Starts End-2025
July 18, 2024 Andrew Cheng

We’ve got more details on Proton’s first-ever EV, which we reckon will be called the Proton e.MAS7. According to a source familiar with the matter, local assembly (CKD) of the EV will begin towards the end of 2025 in Malaysia.

This bit of information comes from Funtasticko, which has proved to be quite accurate in the past. Funtasticko’s source further elaborated that CBU assembly of the e.MAS7 will begin early 2025 in China, which is in line with the December debut of the EV.

There’s also one other detail: the e.MAS7 reportedly shares the same internal codename (E245) as the Geely Galaxy E5. This corroborates the abundance of rumours that Proton’s upcoming EV will be based on the electric SUV.

Of course, given that these information did not come from Proton itself, it’s possible there could be changes leading up to the introduction of the Proton e.MAS7. Rest assured, we will keep a close eye for any relevant details on the highly-anticipated electric SUV.
