Proton just revealed its sales performance for June 2024, where it moved a total of 10,999 units in domestic and export markets. According to the national carmaker, sales are slightly lower last month due to a planned one-week shutdown of its production plant for operations improvement activities.
Despite that, two Proton models still lead their respective segments in June 2024. After launching the updated Proton X50, as many as 1,711 units were sold last month, which is said to be the B-segment SUV’s best sales performance in three months.
Proton added that sales of the X50 are expected to rise in the coming months with increase in production after the plant’s aforementioned improvements.
Besides that, the Proton S70 continues to dominate the C-segment sedan market in June 2024 with 1,440 units sold; the model has actually been the C-segment leader in Malaysia throughout 2024. Of course, Proton’s best-selling model last month remain the Proton Saga with over 5,441 units registered.
“We are pleased to see our recent launch of the 2024 Proton X50 has been met with strong demand from the market. The model remains as the best option for those looking for a B-segment SUV and we expect a similar reaction from the market when we unveil the heavily revised 2025 Proton X70,” said the CEO of Proton Edar, Roslan Abdullah.
“With a new model launch from smart just around the corner and the impending arrival of the first EV model from e.MAS, the market can expect more positive developments from Proton for the second half of the year,” he added.
