Teased back at the global launch of the Infinix Note 40 series, the Racing Edition of the budget-centric smartphone has just landed in Malaysia. Designed in collaboration between Infinix and Designworks, a BMW group company, both the Note 40 5G and Note 40 Pro 5G get the Racing Edition treatment for our market.
Despite the more eye-catching design, the two Infinix Racing Edition smartphones retail at the exact same prices as their standard counterparts. So that means the Note 40 Pro 5G Racing Edition retails at RM1,098, while the Note 40 5G Racing Edition goes for RM1,299. A complimentary MagPower Racing Edition is also bundled with the two phones.
As the (slightly) more costly device of the two, the Note 40 5G does have more RAM and storage. It features 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage, while its other hardware are similar to the Pro model. These include a MediaTek Dimensity 7020 chipset, a 6.78-inch 2436 x 1080 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a triple camera system (108MP main + 2MP + 2MP), a 32MP selfie camera, and a 5,000mAh battery.
The Note 40 Pro 5G, on the other hand, has the same hardware as Note 40 5G, though it comes with less RAM and storage at 8GB and 256GB respectively. It’s also worth noting that its 6.78-inch 2436 x 1080 AMOLED display is a dual curve panel instead of a flat one like the Note 40 5G.
The Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G Racing Edition is now available for purchase in Malaysia for RM1,098. As for the Infinix Note 40 5G Racing Edition, it will arrive on our shores sometime this week for RM1,299.
