The Honor 200 series made its debut in China recently, and it didn’t take Honor Malaysia long to start teasing the arrival of a new “AI Aesthetic” smartphone. With that in mind, there’s a good chance the Honor 200 will be launched on our shores very soon.
Two smartphones make up the Honor 200 series: there’s the base Honor 200, and the higher-end Honor 200 Pro. While both phones look quite similar to each other, they do have some distinct differences. Powering the Honor 200 Pro, for one, is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, while the more affordable Honor 200 features a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip instead.
Beyond the different chipset, the Honor 200 Pro also has a more sophisticated triple camera system that consists of a 50MP shooter with a custom H9000 sensor – similar to the one found on the Honor Magic 6 Pro – a 12MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 50MP telephoto camera. The Honor 200 has a similar camera setup too, but its 50MP primary camera uses a more conventional Sony IMX 906 sensor.
Other specifications of the Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro include a 6.7-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP selfie camera, as well as a 5,200mAh battery with support for 100W charging. Both devices also ship with MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14 out of the box.
No word yet on exactly when the Honor 200 series will be available in Malaysia, though Honor Malaysia said that more details will be revealed sometime next week. We’ll have to wait until then to learn more about the local availability of the Honor 200 series.
