MSI Claw Launched in Malaysia From RM3,499 – Intel Core Ultra Handheld Gaming PC

Initially unveiled at CES 2024 last month, the MSI Claw has just been launched in Malaysia. The handheld gaming PC is essentially the Taiwanese company’s answer to the Asus ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go, and it comes with Intel Core Ultra chips instead of the former two’s AMD hardware.

For the Malaysian market, two variants of the MSI Claw are offered here. The base Core Ultra 5 model with 512GB of SSD storage retails at RM3,499, while the higher-end Core Ultra 7 configuration with a 1TB SSD goes for RM3,999.

Beyond the Claw’s Intel chips, the handheld gaming PC is also packed with a 53Wh battery that promises up to two hours of battery life “under full workload conditions,” as MSI puts it. MSI further elaborated that the Claw has 50% larger air vents compared to its competition for improved thermal performance, which should allow the Intel Core Ultra chip to run at peak clock speeds longer.

Other specifications of the Claw include a 7-inch 1920 x 1080 IPS-level touch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 500 nits peak brightness, integrated Intel Arc Graphics, a Thunderbolt 4 port, a microSD card reader, a 675g chassis, as well as Windows 11 Home out of the box.

The MSI Claw will be available for pre-order in Malaysia from 9 to 21 March from RM3,499; early birds can get RM499 worth of freebies as well. Local deliveries of the Claw are expected to take place in late March or the first week of April 2024.
