MSI Claw Official – Handheld Gaming PC With Intel Ultra Core Coming to Malaysia March 2024

We’ve got a slew of news in conjunction with CES 2024, and one of the most exciting announcements for PC gamers is perhaps the MSI Claw. The handheld gaming PC is essentially the Taiwanese company’s answer to the Asus ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go, and it’s set to arrive in Malaysia very soon.

When we spoke to a representative from MSI Malaysia, we were told that the Claw will be available on our shores sometime in March 2024 or earlier. Of course, local pricing has not been revealed yet, though it does start at $699 (about RM3,245) for the US market. Hopefully, it will be priced similarly here in Malaysia.

What sets the MSI Claw apart from its competition is the Intel Core Ultra chip (maxing out at a Core Ultra 7 155H) that powers the device. This is in stark contrast to the AMD Ryzen Z1 chips that are used in the Asus ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go. It will be interesting to see the performance difference between AMD’s and Intel’s mobile chips.

Aside from that, the Claw is also packed with a 53Wh battery that promises up to two hours of battery life “under full workload conditions,” as MSI puts it. MSI further elaborated that the handheld gaming PC has 50% larger air vents compared to its competition for improved thermal performance, which should allow the Intel Core Ultra chip to run at peak clock speeds longer.

Other specifications of the Claw include a 7-inch 1920 x 1080 IPS-level touch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 500 nits peak brightness, a Thunderbolt 4 port, a microSD card reader, as well as Windows 11 Home out of the box.

To recap, the MSI Claw is expected to be launched in Malaysia by March 2024. We will get our hands on a unit of the handheld gaming PC once it’s available here, so stay tuned for our full review of the Claw!
