After some teasers by Honor Malaysia itself, the Chinese company’s latest foldable phone, the Honor Magic V2, finally gets a launch date. Set to arrive in Malaysia next week on 16 January 2024, the Magic V2 phone is touted to be one of the thinnest and lightest foldable phones.
Tipping the scales at only 231g with a 9.9mm chassis when folded, the Magic V2 is certainly a thin and light foldable phone. Despite its slim profile, the phone still comes with a generous combined battery capacity of 5,000mAh – split between two cells in both halves of the phone – with support for 66W fast charging.
Aside from that, the Magic V2 also features a triple camera system made up of a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 20MP telephoto shooter. It also has a total of two 16MP selfie cameras; one for the inner screen, and another for the cover display.
Other specifications of the Magic V2 include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset paired with 16GB of RAM, three storage options (256GB, 512GB, 1TB), a 7.92-inch 2344 x 2156 OLED primary display with a 120Hz refresh rate, as well as a 6.43-inch 2376 x 1060 OLED cover screen – also clocked at 120Hz.
The Honor Magic V2 will be launched in Malaysia next week on 16 January 2024; we will find out then the local pricing and availability of the foldable phone. Given the improvements the Magic V2 brings to the table, expect it to cost more than its predecessor, the RM5,999 Magic Vs.
