Demand for the Proton S70 looks to be steadily growing. Back at its launch on 28 November, the national carmaker revealed that 1,200 bookings have been placed for the C-segment sedan. Fast forward to now, the figure has now grown to 4,000 – that’s a respectable number.
This was revealed by the Deputy CEO of Proton, Roslan Abdullah at the launch of the S70 in Sarawak earlier this week. As reported by Bernama, deliveries of the sedan will also begin early next year, though the latest waiting period was not revealed. Earlier this month, the waiting period is said to be one month.

Four variants of the S70 are offered: Executive, Premium, Flagship, and Flagship X. Regardless of which S70 model you get, they are all powered by the same 1.5L turbo engine that produces 150PS and 226Nm of torque paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. As for safety, all variants get six airbags, but only the Flagship and Flagship X models are equipped with ADAS.
Speaking of which, the S70’s ADAS is said to be similar to the X90‘s, albeit with the omission of Auto Park Assist (APA) and Emergency Lane Keep Assist (ELKA). That being said, this is still a very sophisticated ADAS, especially for a C-segment sedan. Not only does it have 12 different sensors, it also supports Intelligent Cruise Control, Lane Centering Control, Lane Change Assist, and even Traffic Sign Information.

To recap, the Proton S70 retails from RM73,800 for the Executive model, going up to RM79,800 for the Premium trim. The Flagship and Flagship X variants, on the other hand, are priced at RM89,800 and RM94,800 respectively.
