Just yesterday, first images of the Proton X50 RC1 (Running Change) facelift started circulating, and we now have yet another shot of the very same test mule on Malaysian roads. This time around, we got a much clearer look at the rear end of the upcoming model.

This one image of the (alleged) X50 facelift was shared by Zany Muhammad in the Proton X50 Community Malaysia Facebook group. Unfortunately, we only have a shot of the SUV’s rear end, which is still heavily camouflaged. That’s quite intriguing, given that this is only rumoured to be a “Running Change” update rather than a more elaborate “Minor Change” facelift.

Looking at the spy shots, the X50 facelift seems to take design inspirations from the Binyue Cool. The latter was launched in China last year, and the SUV has a much more aggressive and modern styling. It remains to be seen if the interior of the X50 facelift will also be updated.

As for expected release, the Proton X50 RC1 facelift is rumoured to be introduced towards the end of the year or January 2024. That would be after the launch of the much anticipated Proton S70 sedan sometime this month, as well as the Proton X70 MC2 facelift at a later date.
