Spy Shot: Closer Look at 2023 Proton X70 Facelift Infinite Weave Grille
November 3, 2023 Andrew Cheng

It’s been a while since we’ve seen any spy shot of the 2023 Proton X70 facelift. As previous leaks have shown, the X70 MC2 facelift looks to feature a new Infinite Weave grille that seems to take inspiration from the Proton X90’s diamond-shaped studs, and we’ve got a closer look at this grille today.

This image of the X70 facelift’s alleged grille came from Funtasticko, which was shared with the site from an anonymous source. It looks to be the front bumper itself without the Proton emblem installed yet, and it does match the design of the facelifted X70 as seen in previous spy shots.

Based on the 2022 Geely Boyue, the upcoming X70 facelift has a redesigned front end, giving it a sleeker, more modern-looking aesthetic. It’s said to feature LED headlights too, though it remains to be seen if all variants of the SUV will get the same headlights.

Beyond the updated exterior, the facelifted X70 is said to feature a new interior too, which we reckon will (again) take cues from the 2022 Boyue. If this is indeed the case, it should feature a bigger, more modern-looking infotainment screen. There should be some changes to the overall dashboard design too.

As for expected release, the Proton X70 MC2 facelift is rumoured to be introduced towards the end of the year or January 2024 after the launch of the much anticipated Proton S70 sedan sometime this month. The Proton X50 is also said to be receiving a Running Change update, which may see some minor improvements to the popular B-segment SUV.
