We first spotted the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 in SIRIM’s database last month. Fast forward to today, the affordable wearable is now available in Malaysia. Featuring a new design that allows for a wider range of strap options, the Smart Band 8 can even be attached to your shoe.

For the Malaysian market, the Smart Band 8 retails at RM199, and it will be available for purchase from tomorrow onwards (27 September). There is also an early bird pricing for the wearable: the Smart Band 8 will be priced at only RM159 until 22 October. That’s quite a noteworthy RM40 discount.

Compared to its predecessor, the biggest upgrade the Smart Band 8 brings is a new design that allows for a wider range of strap options; it can even be attached to a pendant or a shoe. Beyond that, it’s also said to deliver slightly better battery life of up to 16 days (14 days for the Smart Band 7), while still retaining the 1.62-inch 490 x 192 AMOLED display and the ability to track up to 150 different sports.

To recap, the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 will be available for purchase in Malaysia from tomorrow onwards on 27 September. Usually retailing at RM199, you can get the wearable for only RM159 until 22 October.
