iPhone 15 & iPhone 15 Plus Get USB-C, Dynamic Island, New 48MP Camera
September 13, 2023 Andrew Cheng

The 2023 iPhones are here! First out the gate are the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, and just as rumours have suggested, the new base iPhones now feature a USB-C port along with the Dynamic Island screen cutout. On top of that, they also get an improved dual camera system that features a new 48MP main sensor.

Thanks to the new 48MP primary camera, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus can now do 2x lossless zoom, just like last year’s iPhone 14 Pro series. Aside from that, the standard iPhones are also powered by Apple’s A16 Bionic chip – yes, the same one found under the hood of last year’s Pro iPhones.

Display of the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus sees a nice upgrade too. With a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, the new screen is said to be twice as bright as the iPhone 14’s panel. The display is also protected by Ceramic Shield now, which is said to be “tougher than any smartphone glass.”

Pricing wise, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus retail at $799 and $899 respectively in the US. Stay tuned for the Malaysian pricing of the two iPhones – the information should be made available in the next hour or so.
