Proton’s much anticipated sedan, the Proton S50, has been spotted on Malaysian roads yet again. This time around, it was seen on MRR2 here in Kuala Lumpur, and it is covered with a new camouflage. On top of that, it looks to be sporting a different rear bumper than its donor car too, the Geely Emgrand.
These images of the S50 were taken by Muhamad Azmeer and subsequently shared by The Ajerul on Facebook. Though most of the car’s exterior is covered in camouflage, some parts of the rear bumper are exposed, and it looks a tad different than the Emgrand’s design.
Of course, given that this is just a test mule of the S50, it may not reflect the design of the finished product when it is officially launched.

Anyway, the S50 is is rumoured to be launched in Malaysia as early as November 2023. On top of that, four different variants are said to be offered, and all of them will be powered by the familiar 1.5L TGDi engine that outputs 177PS and 255Nm of torque – the same one found under the hood of the X50 and X70.
Nonetheless, until confirmed by Proton itself, take these rumoured details on the Proton S50 with a grain of salt – except for the unavailability of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. We should learn more about the S50 as we approach closer to the rumoured November 2023 launch of the sedan.
