Nothing Phone 2 Launched in Malaysia From RM2,999 – First Sale 15 July
July 14, 2023 Andrew Cheng

Unveiled globally just a few days ago, the Nothing Phone 2 has just landed in Malaysia. As expected, it is priced higher than last year’s Phone 1, which isn’t a surprise given the upgrades that the new phone brings.

Two variants of the Phone 2 are available in Malaysia. The 12GB + 256GB model is priced at RM2,999, while the more generous 12GB + 512GB configuration costs RM3,499. Unfortunately enough, the more affordable 8GB + 128GB variant won’t be offered here. Nonetheless, both the white and new grey colourways will be sold locally.

Compared to last year’s Phone 1, the Phone 2 now features a reworked Glyph Interface with a slightly different design. It also features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, the chipmaker’s flagship SoC last year. According to Nothing, this chip brings 80% performance improvement compared to the Phone 1’s Snapdragon 778G+ processor. This makes sense, given that the 778G+ is a mid-tier offering.

Other specifications of the Phone 2 include a 6.7-inch 1080p LTPO OLED display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, a dual camera system made up of a 50MP main shooter – it uses the Sony IMX890 sensor, the same one used in the flagship OnePlus 11 – and a 50MP ultra-wide angle lens, a 32MP selfie camera, as well as a 4,700mAh battery with 45W fast charging.

The Nothing Phone 2 – alongside the Ear 2 in black – will be first available in Malaysia through Crossover Mid Valley on 15 July tomorrow at 11AM; it will be more widely available next week on 22 July. If you’d like to learn more about the phone, check out our Phone 2 hands-on.
