Asus just confirmed the Malaysian launch and pricing of its handheld gaming PC, the Asus ROG Ally. The Taiwanese company revealed this through a Facebook post, and we have to solve a number of rather cheeky math equations to get the local pricing of the Ally.
Let’s take a look at the equations below. The ROG Flow Z13-ACRNM is shown in the first equation with the ROG Strix Scar 18 laptop, which costs RM31,998 together. Given that the Flow Z13-ACRNM retails at RM12,999, we now know that the Scar 18 is RM18,999.
Next, the Strix Scar 18 is shown with the ROG Zephyrus Duo 16. Since the Strix costs RM18,999, we can just add RM4,000 to get the retail price of the Zephyrus Duo 16, which is RM22,999. Finally, for the last equation, we just have to deduct RM22,999 (the Zephyrus Duo 16’s price) from RM19,700, and we come to the final price: RM3,299.
And there you have it folks. The Asus ROG Ally – the Z1 Extreme model, to boot – will retail at RM3,299 here in Malaysia. The handheld gaming console will be launched on our shores come 19 June next week, so in the meantime, check out our hands-on of the Ally.
