Deal: Nintendo Switch OLED Price Drops to New Low (RM1,249)
May 17, 2023 Andrew Cheng

It’s been quite some time since the Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) was launched, so not surprisingly, the portable console is quite a bit more affordable now. Previously going for as low as RM1,299, you can now get the latest and greatest Switch at only RM1,249.

Well, RM1,248.88 to be specific. This deal is offered by Shopee Mall retailer GameStop, which is quite a reputable game store in Malaysia. Both the White and Neon colour options are in stock at the aforementioned price, and they are official Maxsoft units with a one-year warranty.

Of course, if you want the special edition models, you do have to pay more. The Pokemon Scarlet/Violet and Splatoon 3 variants are priced at RM1,438.88, while the newer The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom version is listed at RM1,482.88.

Compared to its predecessor, the new OLED Switch features a larger 7-inch OLED panel with thinner bezels. It also has double the internal storage at 64GB, and the stand sees a design revision as well. Instead of the original Switch’s fragile-looking stand, this new Switch uses a much sturdier, wider stand that is also adjustable.

Other changes introduced in the new OLED Switch include a new dock with a wired LAN port, “enhanced audio” from the system’s onboard speakers, and between 4.5 to 9 hours of battery life – the same quoted battery life as its predecessor.

If you want to get the Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) for only RM1,249, you can do so from GameStop on Shopee. Not sure if it’s worth upgrading from an older model? Then check out our comparison between the new OLED Switch and the original one.
