iPhone 14 & iPhone 14 Plus Official: Familiar Design, Same A15 Bionic Chip From $799
September 8, 2022 Andrew Cheng

Here it is: the latest iPhone 14 series, starting with the standard iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus – the latter is a new model in the lineup. Sporting a familiar-looking design, the iPhone 14 Plus offers the large screen of the Pro Max model, though it also retains last year’s Apple A15 Bionic chip.

Yes, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus soldiers on with the same A15 Bionic chip that made its debut on the iPhone 13 series. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, of course, given the sheer processing power of the chip – not even the latest Android phones can match the performance level of the A15.

Beyond that, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus also feature a new 12MP primary sensor, which promises superior camera performance, especially in low light conditions. The ultra-wide angle lens offers better low light performance too, and the 12MP TrueDepth selfie camera is now packed with autofocus capability – say goodbye to blurry selfies.

Basically, the new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are strikingly similar to last year’s iPhone 13 series, but with an upgraded camera array. All the new upgrades look to be reserved for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, which should be unveiled very soon.

Okay, prices. In the US, the iPhone 14 starts at $799 (about RM3,595), while the iPhone 14 Plus retails from $899 (approximately RM4,045). Expect Malaysian pricing to be revealed in the next couple of hours!
